Lisa Wheeler - Dyslexia

Lisa Wheeler was educated in Surrey before gaining her degree in Psychology at Plymouth University in 1986.  She gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education prior to teaching in mainstream schools in London and Northampton.  Lisa then progressed to a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from Newcastle University.  A career within an LEA as an Educational Psychologist beckoned but, after a short time, Lisa yearned for another hands-on role.  She moved to a special needs school in Buckinghamshire where empathy and communication are essential skills.  After raising a family Lisa returned to providing support to students and parents and has specialized in Dyslexia assessment since 2001, working as a consulting psychologist for Dyslexia Action and running her own practice.  Lisa is registered as a chartered Psychologist with The British Psychological Society and has regular referrals from Universities, independent schools and private individuals.
